Audrey Hepburn & Givenchy’s Unique Relationship
Many people would agree that Audrey Hepburn is one of the most stylish women to ever live. The major question that plagued Audrey’s career was did she make Givenchy or did Givenchy make Audrey?

Where did their iconic relationship begin? It started before Audrey’s silver screen hits and Givenchy’s fantastic runway shows. Their professional relationship lasted from 1954-1987, covering seven films for Audrey to be draped in some of the most glamorous designs in all of movie history. One of the most amazing things about clothes is how they can sometimes, with the right mixture of passion and magic, become a moment. Yes, an entire moment. A moment that is remembered and revered for the ages. When Audrey Hepburn wore clothes designed by Givenchy they were able to make many iconic moments. That is the kind of team they were.

Both individuals understood the importance of how clothes can capture the personality of the person wearing them. Givenchy knew it was most important for the woman wearing his designs to feel undeniably herself in every way. Audrey was a free spirit, she definitely seemed to appreciated that Givenchy’s designs allowed her wit and beauty to shine all at once on screen. The two worked so closely throughout their careers that Audrey Hepburn became the face of the Givenchy brand!

A part of what made their relationship work so well was the genuine love they had for each other. It wasn’t a romantic relationship, but one that felt more like a family. They cared about creating great things and loved each other’s art form. That passion made their relationship legendary.
I thank you Audrey Hepburn and Hubert Givenchy, for creating masterpieces together.
Thank you for the inspiration.
Much Love,
Sarah
