It’s time to reflect on one of my favorite funny ladies: Fran Fine of The Nanny! I know this isn’t a film, but I had to put it in the Classic Cinema section because to me this show is definitely a classic!
Even though this show ran throughout the 90’s, Fran Drescher’s style is pretty contemporary. The crop tops, the geometric shapes, the mini skirts, and the many times she wore the complementary color of black. Fran was way ahead of her time in fashion!

We have seen the fashion industry catchup in the fashion race with Fran Fine in the years that have followed The Nanny‘s ending. In the summer, you see tons of Fran-esk two pieces, sets, and swimwear. If you are looking for inspiration in what to wear to the office, look to Fran Fine! She has an plethora of business suits that are beautifully fitted and will really make you standout!
Yes, there were constant running jokes in the show about Fran’s wild style choices. Yes, her choices may have been a little extreme at times. But, at the end of the day, I really wish I was able to pull off half of the looks Fran did! I definitely think the fashion industry has taken some cues from her since she made her tv debut, and rightfully they should, she is fabulous!
