Tom Ford’s Spring/Summer 2019 collection at New York Fashion Week was all about the details! He somehow connected a timeless color pallet with retro and modern elements in this collection while also giving us a glimpse into a more futuristic design! Let’s take a closer look shall we?

Immediately the first thing you may notice with this runway show is the styling. The consistency with each model wearing a headscarf gives you the feeling of a modern society while also being very reminiscent of the 1920’s or even 60’s. Matter of fact, this whole collection is very much a picture of a modern take on 20’s fashion! The fringe detail, the pencil skirts, and the use of lace are all an ode to earlier eras of fashion.
The Tom Ford collection for Spring/Summer 2019 also adds a flair of leather, giving all of these looks a bit of grittiness. Leather coupled with the sleek tailoring in these designs are the perfect mix of glamour and simplicity. What really makes these designs stand out are the small details you can find in each look. The choice of the silk blazer styled with the flowing dress underneath seem like such a modern and unique take on office fashion. The fringe skirt on the purple evening gown was a show stopper and really cemented the 20’s inspiration.
Lastly, these bags that were featured at the Tom Ford show really caught my attention! I love a good crossbody bag, and these are simply stunning! The pocket detail (again with those details) adds just the right touch to this pretty square shaped purse. I love the rounded edges along with the buckle in front! This design will be very popular so be ready to see a whole lot more of bags like these next summer!
