Ralph Lauren Spring/Summer 2019 for Men
The men’s fashion at this year’s Ralph Lauren show was something rich and aspirational! The materials used, much like in the women’s collection, were mixed and beautifully designed! It was all about suits for the 50th anniversary of the Ralph Lauren brand, but each suit had a little uniqueness thrown in to add the Lauren touch!

One of the most consistent parts of this collection is the fact that the designs, for men in particular, are not too loose fitting. Instead, they are tailored to precisely fit each model. This gives the fashion forward suits a more professional look while also being exceptionally designed with crushed velvet materials.
My favorite detail in all of the men’s looks this year is the tie that one of the models is wearing above. This tie has a bit of stitching on the bottom of it that outlines and defines the shape and color of the tie. It also complements but doesn’t compete with the soft brown suit that it was styled with. This is a favorite men’s look of mine because I feel it could be used for so many different occasions and is quite unique!
Like the women’s collection, the men’s designs were expertly accessorized! Something I noticed for both the men and women was the use of hats and their prominence in the ensembles. The men can be seen wearing fedoras and newsboy caps, giving this collection a fresh and somewhat classical style. Beside reckoning a different era, the hats featured in this collection are similar to what you may find on any fashionable man of our modern times.
Overall, we a saw a cohesive yet diverse selection of materials and designs for the Ralph Lauren 50th anniversary collection. All men should be excited by the direction provided with these pieces because I believe it allows a lot of freedom in styling and mixing. All of these designs would be spectacular dressed up or down, and we were lucky enough to see a little bit of that in this show. Congratulations to Ralph Lauren on nailing men’s fashion and on making it 50 years!
Much Love,
Sarah
