What I Wore for Memorial Day 2019

As I get older, the holidays that mean the most to me are less about receiving gifts and more about the people you surround yourself with. Six-year-old Sarah might have told you that her favorite holiday was Christmas or even her birthday. But mature nearly twenty-year-old Sarah is much more invested in the holidays like Thanksgiving (when everyone can be together), the 4th of July, and Memorial Day when those we know or not are remembered for their dedication and sacrifice.

So, I wanted to share what I wore on Memorial Day not because it is all about the fashion, but because it is about how I honored those who gave all on this special day.

In memory of the men and women who sacrificed a little or a lot, I wanted to wear something that featured the American flag. It would have felt so wrong not to, honestly. In order to let the patriotic vibe of this t-shirt stand out, I wore a simple pair of denim shorts.

Nothing says summer like a day with family spent in the sun. Nothing says thank you like remembering our veterans. So, thank you to all who have served our great nation!
