Fashion Forecast,  What I'm Wearing

Mustard Yellow is the Autumn Shade of Fall 2019

Each season we have our go-to colors for whatever time of the year we are trying to dress for. Spring sees a slew of pastels (even if Miranda Priestly would roll her eyes), winter brings in holiday colors, and fall is the time for browns and burgundies. This limited color palette for each season may feel a little limiting, but there is always one break out star of the pack that ends up being THE shade of that particular season.

For the fall of 2019, the “IT” color will be mustard yellow! Now, this may seem like another basic fall color to wear, but there are so many different shades of yellow that any yellow really works usually. It just so happens that the most popular shade of yellow this year with be of the mustard variety.

If you are really bored with the same old look of yellow, you can mix and match this color with other really fun tones! For example, the look I am wearing above is not only perfect for that awkward weather pattern in this time of the year where it is somehow hot and cold at the same time, but it also incorporates trends with a splash of something new. The light grey, chunky cardigan I am wearing adds a dash of texture to the overall look white the mock turtleneck t-shirt I am wearing is easy to layer.

This kind of grey and mustard yellow color combo is not often used for the fall season which I find unfortunate. Personally, I think these two colors are a match made in heaven, but there are so many other classic ways to dress up mustard yellow, too! Think burgundy, emerald green, navy blue, and even tones of Earthy brown. All of these are options to stay on trend while also making this particular style your own.

So, whether you are looking for a color to wear in family photos or just a shade to liven up your fall wardrobe, take a close look at all things mustard yellow. Adding just a small pop of this color can really breath new life into now only your closet, but also the entire fall season!

Much Love,

Sarah
