Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2019

If the saying “Save the best for last.” is actually true, then Fashion Month is doing it right! With the end of Fashion Month, which is basically the whole month of September, comes Paris Fashion Week. This fashion week is different than the other three cities we have already seen this month. Saint Laurent is a great example as to why Paris Fashion Week is so special!

Paris Fashion Week is when some of the finest brands and designers come out and show their best! We also get to see stunning runways that go far beyond just the fashion. In shows like this season’s Saint Laurent show, the runway set gives the collection a run for its money in the beauty stakes. At the Saint Laurent show held in Paris this year it was set in front of the Eiffel Tower at night when the lights were shinning. Along the runway were equally bright palm trees lit up like it is Christmas, and the models walked on a runway covered in a thin layer of water. If Saint Laurent doesn’t make you walk on water like these ladies, I don’t know what will!

In this entire collection we saw the influence of several decades combined. The 20’s peak out when models walked the runway in headbands and shift style dresses. A flair of the 60’s and 70’s were both prevalent in the accessories chosen for the runway. The hats, sunglasses, and platform heels all scream 70’s inspired!

Saint Laurent never disappoints to bring a certain level of richness and sophistication to every fashion collection. The color and fabrics used in the season shown here take that reputation to a whole other level. This runway setting will be a hard act to follow, and so will this collection. Of all of the Paris Fashion Week runways this year, Saint Laurent has been my favorite so far!

Much Love,

Sarah
