The Best of 2018

Today I would like to share a few of the things that Faintly Familiar readers were kind enough to tell me about. These are all of the different parts that made my readers’ 2018 special. So here we go! This is the best of 2018!

Books

The books pictured above are a few that Faintly Familiar readers also read in 2018. Not going to lie, Girl, Wash Your Face was everywhere this year and it definitely peaked my interest. However, I never found the time to sit down and actually read it. Maybe 2019 will be the year I read a bit more outside of college classes.

Beauty Products

For the best beauty products of 2018, there were an assortment of brands and items explored this year. One of the best brands I found, and one that a Faintly Familiar reader also suggested for this post, was It cosmetics! They offer great full coverage foundations and their mascaras are fabulous! One reader also offered up that the best cosmetic of all is self love, and I could not agree more.

TV Shows

2018 gave the world a good mix of dramatic shows both on traditional television and sitcoms that made us laugh. Of all of the shows that were shared with me by Faintly Familiar readers, I have only ever watched Happy Together (which is hands down one of the funniest sitcoms on TV right now). So this list has given me some ideas on what I should try watching.

Clothes

As you may already know, Faintly Familiar loves to discuss all things fashion! I couldn’t resist sharing what my readers wore for style this year! All three of these closet staples are cute and easy to mix and match. The themed socks are such a fun little pop of personality to add to any outfit, too!

Films

If the Classic Cinema section one Faintly Familiar hadn’t already given it away, another guilty pleasure of mine is watching films! The Greatest Showman was definitely one of the best musicals/films to come out of 2018. Although I haven’t seen the most recent A Star is Born, I have heard a ton of great things about it (and I have seen a lot of funny memes ;))!

Places Visited

These are some of the beautiful and exciting places Faintly Familiar readers visited in 2018! It looks like they all had an exciting year! These locations are stunning and would be great places to visit and take photos! My favorite place I visited in 2018 is, of course, London!

Skincare Products

I can’t stress enough how important taking care of your skin is! This would be a great New Years resolution actually! Whether it is simply washing your face with soap every evening before bed or doing something as easy and convenient as taking the kind of supplements I have pictured above, skincare is really good for your overall body.

Best Advice Received

By far my favorite part of this blog post is the things that people learned from 2018! There is something so special about looking back at the person you beginning the year in comparison to who you are when the year ends. The progress that is made is subtle, but it is still there nonetheless.

As for me, I will be taking one 2019 with an open mind, heart, and arms. There are a ton of exciting places to go, things to see, and people to meet and I cannot wait to tackle it all in 2019!
