Sarah Sigmon: 2018 Fashion Highlights

I believe that a life well lived is one shared with others. This motto has shaped my 2018, and it has guided me in life. I also believe that fashion can make a moment that much more special, and the right outfit can do wonders for approaching different situations.

I began Faintly Familiar with the purpose of sharing my passions and life with everyone. A large element of all of this is, of course, is fashion. So I would like to just take a moment and reflect on some on my favorite outfits from 2018!

2018 was the year of exploring the comfort and ease of overalls! There are a million ways to wear overalls, you really can go wrong with them! I have a pair for summer and fall. No matter how you style overalls they are always a good choice!

The maxi romper is such a perfect summer look! I wore this while judging for the Miss Charleston pageant, and it was the perfect mix of functional and “wow”! Another reason it is perfect to wear in the evenings is because of how the cape keeps you warm while also staying cool thanks to the shorts.

The summer of 2018 could easily be known as the summer of prints! It seems florals were particularly popular, and I even wrote a post here on Faintly Familiar about this summer trend! A ton of my favorite ensembles from the summer were floral patterned like this black and pink romper I found at kohl’s!

This was also a big summer/fall for neon colors! This fashion trend also appeared here on Faintly Familiar, I wore the neon green striped top pictured above several times throughout the fall to embrace this fashion trend!

There were also a lot of classic and neutral looks worn this year. This “Kind is the new cool” tee was one of my favorites and so was the pinstripe jumpsuit! No doubt both of these looks will eventually make another comeback and I for one cannot wait until they do!

A lot of accessories were explored this year as well! Hats, watches, puffer jackets, and cool sunglasses were all worn to enhance the look of simple and chic outfits. I have loved my year of fashion, and I absolutely cannot wait to see what 2019 brings! Thank you all so much for reading Faintly Familiar and sharing in every experience with me!

Much Love and Happy New Year,

Sarah
