Etro Fall 2019 Ready-to-Wear Collection
A new take on a classic preppy style is the feeling I get from the brand new Etro fall 2019 collection. This runway particularly stood out to me because of how different it was in tone. There is something distinctly academic looking to this collection.
I simply love the use of velvet and different textures used in this runway. From bags and belts to the tights that the models wore, the accessories paired with all of these looks gave so much more dimension to the entire collection.
There is also a very loose feeling to these fall looks. The colors scream changing leaves, but the fit of these designs are very relaxed. In the past two years, we have seen a lot of runways with neatly tailored suits that look very sophisticated but can also look too uptight sometimes. It is so refreshing to see a collection give up the tailored look just a little bit for something a lot more relaxed and approachable.
Hopefully, this will influence more runways. I would love to see a different take on preppy, like this collection, have a little time in the fashion spotlight.

It is definitely out-of-the-box for the fashion industry, but I think that is what we need right now. That is just my opinion though.
