Christian Dior Fall 2019 Ready-to-Wear Collection

These images are not mine. They can be found here.

With today’s Runway Review we see a return to 90’s street style! The consistent bucket hats are very reminiscent of 90’s fashion, however, I would say these are much more tame in terms of prints being used.

I like how Dior used some of their most classic silhouettes for dresses and gowns for this runway. Typically we see fashion houses lazy attempts to be retro when it comes off a little cheap. However, these Dior throwbacks are simply stunning with all of their old time charm, but with just the right amount of modernity.

The different prints used for this runway are particularly what remind me of the 90’s besides the bucket hats, obviously. Seeing so much plaid is decidedly grunge, if you ask me. But, once again, Dior somehow manages to make it look elegant.

My favorite design on this runway was this off the shoulder navy evening gown in the very last photo. I feel like it encompasses everything that the Dior brand should stand for. This runway wasn’t transformative for the fashion industry by any means, but it did remind me why the Dior brand is so special.

Much Love,

Sarah

I really liked these outfits better than any I have seem so far. Maybe it was because, as you stated they were kind of a throw back to the 90’s and I am an older person and so many of the others you have shown were definitely for younger persons.

This was a great collection because it is a healthy mix of modern and classic. Definitely some cool 90’s vibes with that too!
