Ralph Lauren’s Spring 2019 Ready-to-Wear Collection

These photos are not mine. They can be found here.

Of all of the collections that were shown at New York Fashion Week, Ralph Lauren’s may be the most sophisticated one of all. The set signed what like a little world of its own. It was a very aesthetically pleasing collection filled with a timeless color pallet.

However wonder the set and most of these designs were, for a ready-to-wear collection there were only truly a few of these designs that were read for a night on the town or a day in the office. The evening gowns, jumpsuits, and a couple of suits were definitely ready for some real life action. But the majority of these looks were not practical, not even in the way they were styled for the runway.

I didn’t love the use of glittered crop tops in the otherwise classy and beautiful setting. These somewhat tasteless crop tops just didn’t go with the sophisticated nature of the crisp white military styled suits or the lovely black evening gowns.

This collection and the overall runway gets an “A” for effort, and there were a ton of moments that were a real highlight. However, some of the pieces just fell short for me. None of this takes away from the fact that the setting was absolutely breathtaking and something that will live in New York Fashion Week infamy.

Much Love,

Sarah
