Victoria Beckham Fall 2019 Ready-to-Wear Collection

These photos are not mine. They can be found here.

I’m going to be honest, Victoria Beckham runways are not typically one that I look forward to. I find her designs to be somewhat boring and unoriginal. This collection didn’t blow my socks off by any means, but Victoria Beckham did pleasantly surprise me with these designs.

One of the reasons I am usually no enthusiastic about Victoria Beckham runways is because I just know what her color pallet will be. She never varies from only a limited number of shades and this collection was not an exception. That was a little disappointing to me. However, I could tell she tried to step-up her game in some interesting ways.

The inspiration for these designs seem to be the working woman who gets up early, starts her day with a cup of coffee, and heads to the office. I say this because a lot of the outfits that graced the runway were sophisticated and very put together looking. None of that is shocking coming from Beckham, but I do think it was slightly different for this season because she might have had someone like Meghan Markle (a documented fan of Victoria Beckham designs) in mind.

The neutral camel tones weaved throughout each piece really works well with the bright reds and pink we see now and then. The only color I didn’t like making an appearance in this runway was the bright blue boots, but if that is the only thing I can really complain about I would say that this was a success show for Beckham.

Additionally, I feel like Victoria Beckham truly took a couple of interesting leaps when designing this collection. Some of the suit blazers include long sleeves and an interesting piece of material that crosses over the front where the blazer buttons up. That might seem like a small detail, but to me it was a very interesting take.

Like I said at the beginning, this collection surprised me in a really good way. I loved the unique take Beckham shared with us on office style this season. If she keeps this creative space going with different inspirations, I think we could see some of her best designs yet.

Much Love,

Sarah
