The End of Summer

With the end of fair season comes the end of summer. We all knew this would happen sooner or later, the long days and warm nights were slowly slipping aways from us. The new semester is rapidly approaching now, and soon I will be back to cracking the books. Another fresh set of classes to figure out  and conquer, but this school year will be different for me.

I am looking forward to the first school year of having this blog to write! It has been such an amazing way for me to connect with others and a fantastic creative outlet! Nothing has allowed me to be this vulnerable yet fearless before. Hearing from readers and getting to know them has meant the world to me! I am so grateful for everyone who reads Faintly Familiar! I feel confident that I will have an even better Sophomore year now that I can write for this blog!

Like a good carnival ride, life has its ups and downs. As the summer comes to a close, it feels like we are finally taking that dive off the high we have been climbing. The fact that this year has even gone this fast is blowing my mind. Time seems to go faster and faster, and all we can do is accept it.

What I am most thankful for is my family. They keep me grounded and when I get overwhelmed they keep me sane. I know I can count on them, and they know they can count on me. The holidays are always one of my favorite parts of the year because that is when we celebrate family being together. Whether your family is one created by blood or friendship, family is family.

My brother Jacob and I getting ready to ride a carnival ride at the Georgetown Fair. The look I am giving is one that says, “Help me!” I may have been a little terrified.

I’m lucky my brother Jacob is an expert in extreme rides! We both survived!

So as these warmer days give way to the colder temperatures, I am not afraid. The love of a family is eternal and never-ending, that is what will get me through the tough midterms, finals, and all of those little moments of doubt. The love of a family is better than other possession you could possibly have.

Much Love,

Sarah
