Burberry Spring/Summer 2019 for Men
In some ways, I almost feel like the designs that were wore by the men on Burberry’s 2019 runway were better than even the ladies. Look through the photos below and then I will explain why I am saying the men’s designs are better.

Don’t get me wrong, I loved the fascination with the trench coat for the ladies’ designs, but I just felt like the men had more variety. One of the aspects I value most about fashion is variety. If I can mix and match this in new and fun ways, I am one happy girl! I just feel like the women’s collection was too focused on the trench coat.
One of my favorite parts of the Burberry men’s collection was the usage of pinstripes. The way they faded in and out of garments was magnificent and like nothing I had ever seen before. It kept things classy and modern. Also, notice how the shoes worn with the suits on this runway match the pinstripes and ultimately mask themselves as men’s dress shoes. But with closer inspection, you realize that they are actually more like casual sneakers.
I also loved the architecture of these designs better than the ladies’. In the women’s collection it seemed things were more baggy than they should be and somewhat poorly tailored, where in the men’s collection it was much more fitted and flattering. The playful square necklines are also a huge plus to this runway show and really helps the men’s designs to stand out.
Whether you agree with me or not, I still feel that the men’s Burberry runway outshined the women’s. It will be interesting to see which direction the rest of Burberry’s designs will take in the future considering they have a new Creative Officer heading up the brand these days. Hopefully, the women’s clothing is step up in the future, but until then I suppose we will all have to be happy with what are seeing for the men.
Much Love,
Sarah
