Celine Spring 2020 for Men
I must admit, I was rather disappointed by the runways we saw for this spring 2020 men’s fashion week. After combing through all of the designer shows and seeing how they all look basically the same, there were only two specific runways that stood out to me enough to actually review. Celine is one of those two fashion shows that I have decided to write a Runway Review about! What stood out to me in this spring collection was the perfect mix of business and casual wear. If you look at the entire spring 2020 line up of men’s fashion, you will notice that pretty much every designer featured a…

Movie Monday: Jane Eyre (1943)
Jane Eyre, the classic film not the novel, came as kind of a surprise to me. Typically, I am not a fan of Orson Wells (sorry, Citizen Kane!) because I feel that he, much like Bette Davis, had the tendency to make the films he starred in more about himself as an actor than the actual plot of the film. Anyway, I am here today to review Jane Eyre from 1943 and why this film surprised me. With the passing of the legendary designer Karl Lagerfeld, Chanel faces a whole new frontier. Lagerfeld gave us many designs to enjoy throughout his career, however, I can’t help but feel like this runway in particular will serve as a kind of endless winter inspiration for some time to come. The runway sets have always been spectacular, and Lagerfeld never disappointed those who were in attendance. But this runway perfectly sums up modern ski lodge attire. We are used to thinking of ski lodge ensembles in a retro light, but this collection really summed up a new approach. I really like how these dresses and all of the outfits were…

Movie Monday: Rope (1948)
Hitchcock films are always fun to watch, but they especially get the adrenaline pumping during the Halloween season! One of the best and (in my opinion) highly underrated Hitchcock movies is the cinema classic Rope. These photos are not mine. This is yet another Hitchcock film where James Stewart stars as the leading man. It is said that Stewart was Hitchcock’s ideal leading man like Grace Kelly was his ideal leading lady. People have also said that Stewart was the only actor that could ever hold his own against Hitchcock in a screaming match. I suppose the director respected him a little more because of that. Rope was based off…
