The Peacoat Trend
Long before it became the trend of the season, I was wearing this fabulous peacoat! Last year, I went on the long and treacherous search for the perfect fall and winter coat for those days when it wasn’t super cold, but definitely cold enough to warrant wearing a coat. So I went shopping for a peacoat!
Fast forward to this year, and I am seeing a lot more ladies follow suit in the peacoat path. This is exciting to me because I believe the peacoat always looks so classic and can dress up almost any outfit! I know that this style of coat is never truly “out of style”, but I have never seen these many being worn before. This definitely calls for on trend material!
Either way I was a peacoat original, and I will always have at least one of these in my closet. As far as I am concerned, the peacoat is a closet essential. This along with a camel trench coat should be in everyone’s closet. If you have the basics, you can never go wrong!

Thank you! And I have always wondered that myself. It doesn’t particularly look like a pea, but maybe it did to the dutch??

Well, I just checked out why it’s called a pea coat and the word pea comes from a Dutch word “pijjikker” which is a certain type of clothe. The U.S. Navy began using this clothe in 1881 and they called it Pcloth and later became pea clothe.
