Fashion Highlights from Summer 2019
I began doing fashion highlights roundups after the new year rolled around with my Sarah Sigmon: 2018 Fashion Highlights. Today I am continuing this new series of highlight reels with the trends and ensembles I wore this summer. This may become a more common roundup blog post here on Faintly Familiar after each season so if you enjoy this article let me know in the comments!
Green with Envy
Summer is the time to embrace tank tops and showing a little more skin. This summer I did just that with the perfect knotted tank top I found at Kohl’s! The little know in the front adds that something extra that a graphic ordinarily would. Another reason I like this tank top so much is for the lovely shade of green.
The Bucket Hat
I predicted that the bucket hat would become a trend once I saw Dior’s models sporting them on the runway. There are so many chic ways I have seen them be worn this summer, and I myself could not resist styling one! It went perfectly with the neon that was also a prediction I made all of the way back in 2018.
Styling a White T-Shirt
Nothing truly beats a plain white t-shirt, especially in the summertime! I shared one of the many ways you can style a white t-shirt this summer, and I had this ensemble on repeat! A good white t-shirt is a wardrobe essential for everyone and it presents the perfect opportunity for experimenting with style.
Modern City Chic Audrey Hepburn Style
After helping my older brother move to Chicago, I have now made several trips to the Windy City. It is definitely a little chillier there because of the wind and a little more rainy. This gave me the chance to try my hand at creating a modern city chic Audrey Hepburn inspired ensemble! All of these trips also gave me quite a few fun mirror selfies, too!
Initial Jewelry
Initial jewelry has been a chic summer accessory trend! Whether you are a necklace, bracelet, or ring kind of person, there are a ton of ways to take part in this trend. It is also a pretty timeless piece to add to your jewelry collection.
Summer Polos
Polos have been a go-to item for me this summer and such a stylish way to keep cool! A very on trend symbol have been bees too so this polo became extra fashionable.
Tie-dye
Another trend that I alerted the Faintly Familiar Family about first was the tie-dye trend! This other trend goes perfectly with the bucket hat trend and it can be quite the fun combo, too!
Denim Overalls Dresses
Does this denim overalls dress have layers of fall? As we slowly transition into the next season, I am breaking out some of the lovely shades of autumn. There is no reason to not celebrate the transition of seasons while still in summer!
The Happy Camper
Last but not least, this “happy camper” tank top is one of my favorites for summer! It really captures the epitome of summer because of the campers that create this adorable print. Another reason this tank top is so perfect is because of the no ironing needed promise!
