It is officially Fashion Month! Which means there will be plenty of brand new and exciting Runway Reviews coming your way!

Today I want to review one of the first collections to really catch my eye, and one that I do not believe has received the kind of attention it deserves. The Carolina Herrera collection for spring 2020 plays on all of the right notes of spring, but without all of the clichés.

If you notice, the designs featured on this particular runway contain all of the elements of any good springtime look that you would expect like pastels and florals. However, thanks to the bold silhouettes and structures in these looks, all of the typical delicacy of spring is thrown out of the window.

I’m a huge fan of this mixture of delicacy and firmness! The texture on the material is another win in my book for the Carolina Herrera spring 2020 collection. Additionally, if you take a close look at the accessories the models wore, the heels would always add just a little pop of color. This strategy in styling really pulls everything together and creates a look that feels complete.

Last but not least, I want to draw your attention to something substantial to this collection, and one element I think we may see a lot of come spring and even into the summer of 2020. The belt. A big ole’ bold belt does wonders to the designs on this runway. It is another example of how accessories have played a huge part in this runway. These bold belts also help add even more drama to the structured looks.

Bravo to Carolina Herrera who was able to defeat the desire to fall into all of the typical spring designs! Herrera made it specific to this brand, and one runway that deserves more attention.

Much Love,

Sarah
