• Movie Monday: Sabrina (1954)

Recently, I re-watched the film Sabrina starring Audrey Hepburn and I became so inspired by both the fashion and the acting. That inspiration has led me here to this Movie Monday to review this classic film! Sabrina is full of symbolism and metaphors which is one of the reasons I love watching it! In one scene we see Audrey Hepburn’s character speak with her father through a window while he is standing in their shared home’s kitchen. This, in my opinion, is supposed to symbolize her feeling like an outsider in many ways including in comparison to the wealthy family who the man she loves is a member of. This…

  • Met Gala & Camp Style: What It Is & How You Can Wear It

If you don’t know yet, the annual Met Gala will be held this three days. This is the biggest night for fashion! There are always a ton of outrageous looks that celebrities pull together, and some really fantastic designers get their evening to shine and experiment with different ideas. Typically, a fashion enthusiast like myself would put together a neat little list of my favorite looks and the ones I didn’t like. But I am much more interested in the theme of Met Gala than anything that will be worn. So, today I am going to talk about what the Met Gala 2019 theme is and share a few of…

Being a Page for the Daughters of the American Revolution has a specific dress code. So, I thought it would be helpful to share what I wore to be a page at the Illinois Daughters of the American Revolution State Conference this year! For all of the ladies who are interested in or are thinking about Paging for this wonderful society, it does not cost a lot of money to purchase all white outfits and Paging is an awesome opportunity! Here are the ensembles I wore while Paging at this year’s conference! Dress codes rules for Paging varies from state-to-state and whether you are Paging at Continental Congress (the national…

  • The 2019 Illinois Daughters of the American Revolution State Conference

This past weekend, my Mom and I attended the Illinois Daughters of the 2019 American Revolution State Conference. Every year members of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution gather together to celebrate historic preservation, education, and patriotism. If you are not a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, check out how you can become a member here! Anyway, my Mother and I are lucky to be apart of this wonderful society and a equally wonderful local chapter! Last year was the first time I had Paged at the state conference because I was a new member. However, after Paging last year I knew I wanted to…

  • Movie Monday: A Woman’s Face (1941)

If you are looking for a good drama to watch, you have come to the right place! Today I am reviewing A Woman’s Face, a Joan Crawford classic. This movie has it all! Action, drama, sadness, love, and fashion! There is a lot to cover so let’s jump right in! At first A Woman’s Face seems like a horror/mobster kind of film. However, once you get into the thick of the plot you quickly begin to realize it is so much more! This multifaceted film wants you to root against Joan Crawford’s character. You already know from the moment she makes her debut on the screen that she has done…

  • The Princess Diana Black Sheep Sweater

A while back I saw this black sheep sweater from Lands End and I instantly fell in love with it! Not only is the grey color super versatile, but it also has such a fun retro design. I know this may not make sense so let me give you a little background. Being the royal watcher that I am, previously I have seen photos of the late Princess Diana wearing a very similar black sheep sweater (like in the photo of her above). Of course, I always admired the fun sheep design of the sweater she wore! Well, Princess Diana wore that sweater back in the 80’s so naturally I…

  • The Two Toned Denim Trend

Something I have been noticing a lot more of recently is that two toned denim in long jeans and shorts has become something of a micro-trend. Personally, I find this micro-trend very fun and unique! This really will add a little something extra that you can mix and match both spring and summer outfits with. I recently purchased a pair of denim shorts that features this two toned denim look and I thought it would be so much fun to try with different tops and blouses. Also, you wear a pair of the trendy white cowboy boots or just a classic brown pair they will look super cute with these…

  • Moto Jackets for Chic Streetwear

There are a couple of different jackets everyone should own. First, you need to have a simple denim jacket and from their you can expand that collection to denim jackets with details. Second, you need a leather jacket in any color, but black is the most timeless one of all. Last, but certainly not least, every needs at least one moto jacket. I found a clothe moto jacket last fall and snatched it up because I didn’t have one already in my closet. Let me tell you, since purchasing that jacket I have worn it so much in both the fall and spring! A classic black moto jacket goes with…

  • Movie Monday: Monkey Business (1952)

It’s time to take a moment to laugh and celebrate a comedy this Movie Monday! If there is anyone who can master classic film comedy it is definitely Cary Grant and Ginger Rogers! Monkey Business is a funny and adorable film from what could be expressed as the typical 50’s style comedy. In Monkey Business Grant brings back the coke bottle glasses he wore in Bringing Up Baby and his comedic skills. This isn’t the same style of comedy he used in some other movies, though, like Arsenic and Old Lace. Monkey Business shows us an older more mature side of Cary Grant until it doesn’t and everything just begins…

  • What I’m Wearing for Easter 2019

Happy Easter, everyone! This was always one of my favorite holidays growing up and even today I still love the atmosphere and purpose of getting together to celebrate with family. Unfortunately for me, the Midwestern spring weather gives me a lot of wind! Hence the wearing pants and not a dress. There will be plenty of time for dresses this summer when things warm up and the wind slows down. This blue sweater came along just in time for the Easter holiday! I found it on sale at Old Navy and it was featured in my post about the neon trend. Of course, this blue isn’t necessarily neon, but I…
