• What I Wore for the 4th of July 2019

It was a very eventful 4th of July for my family and I! More on what we did all day will be coming later this week, but today I am sharing what I wore for this very special holiday. I have been loving button up tank tops this summer and this style came in especially handy since the 4th of July was extraordinarily hot the year. This festive button up tank top was a lucky find from Kohl’s. I love how subtle the star print is on this blouse, and the shade of blue is very perfect for this particular patriotic holiday. To style this outfit I worn a classic…

  • Dior Spring 2020 for Men

The final collection from the spring 2020 men’s runways that I will be reviewing is the Dior runway. Although I am disappointed that Dior did not stray from the typical pastels of the springtime, I do like that there were some textures and designs added to these looks. For instance, the shoes for this collection had a very gummy like texture and look to them that really amplified the overall neutral color tone of the runway. I also enjoyed that once in a while a bright color made a special appearance on the Dior runway. This bright shade especially stood out against the white and pastels that dominated. Another element…

  • Celine Spring 2020 for Men

I must admit, I was rather disappointed by the runways we saw for this spring 2020 men’s fashion week. After combing through all of the designer shows and seeing how they all look basically the same, there were only two specific runways that stood out to me enough to actually review. Celine is one of those two fashion shows that I have decided to write a Runway Review about! What stood out to me in this spring collection was the perfect mix of business and casual wear. If you look at the entire spring 2020 line up of men’s fashion, you will notice that pretty much every designer featured a…

  • Movie Monday: Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939)

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington is one of my all time favorite films. James Stewart gave a iconic performance in this Frank Capra movie so it only made sense to review this movie on the week of the Fourth of July holiday! This film is full of impactful scenes and deep meanings. Like all Frank Capra movies, there is a deep sentiment of American pride laced within all of the actors lines. What we as an audience see and hear is the “American Dream” embodied in Mr. Smith. Besides the inspiring plot of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (which we will continue reviewing momentarily), the cinematography in the scenes where…

  • A Classic Embroidered Button Up

Nothing says summer more than a classic knotted button up! Recently I noticed how little of this one clothing item I had in my closet and decided to remedy the problem with a trip to Kohl’s. While doing a little light shopping I found this embroidered button up that I thought would be just perfect to add the summer wardrobe! What was a huge selling point for this button up was the light patterning of embroidered flowers all around it. I really love the mix of sophistication and casual that comes with wearing a knotted button up in the summer. Especially when that button up has some embroidery on it!…

  • A Few of My Favorite Things Summer 2019

The summer season is officially upon us which means it is time for the list of products and brands that I will be using the most this summer. A Few of My Favorite Things is one of my favorite series to write for and I always love hearing all of the products you enjoy using in the summer, so if you have any you think I should know about leave a comment! Tanning Lotion One element that is so essential to my summer routine is looking after my delicate and fair complexion. Since I know that I am more susceptible to burning my skin in the sun than the average…

  • Wisdom Teeth Removal Series: the Recovery

If you haven’t read the first and second part of this three part series, you can read about the consultation and the removal here. Today officially marks one whole week for me without having wisdom teeth. It has been a rather interesting week and it feels like the first part of it went by really slowly. That may sound a little confusing, but I will explain it all once I share the recovery process post procedure. I am going to count the day I had my wisdom teeth removed as the very first day, so let’s start there! Before the medication they gave me to go to sleep wore off…

  • Movie Monday: It (1927)

Long before “It” became synonymous with Stephen King and his scary stories, “It” was known for making Clara Bow a superstar! This Movie Monday I am reviewing a classic film from the silent era that not too many people mention. It was a highly influential movie, in my opinion, and deserves a lot more credit for changing the film industry. The movie It is very modern in a lot of ways. That is not something you would really except from a film made in the 1920’s, but here I am saying it. The storyline follows a very progressive way of looking at romance stories, and never puts Clara Bow in…

  • City Chic Audrey Hepburn Style

I know it may seem crazy depending on where you live and what the weather is like there, but lately here in the Midwest it has been a bit on the chilly side! Especially in the Windy City (A.K.A. Chicago) where I have recently spent a bit of time helping my brother move to. Although we have been busy lifting heavy boxes, it is never a bad idea to dress up for a day on the town! Recently, I shared how I like to style a trench coat in the springtime but today I am sharing another way to style a classic camel trench coat. Matter of fact, this entire…

  • Wisdom Teeth Removal Series: the Removal

You can read the first part of the Wisdom Teeth Removal Series all about the consultation here! Well, the day has finally arrived. By the time you all are reading this (and I am writing it) I have finally had all four of my wisdom teeth removed. Now, if you read my blog post about the consultation I had with the oral surgeon who would be preforming the “operation”, you will know that talking with the surgeon gave me quite a bit of confidence in him. Nevertheless, I was still a bundle of nerves when walking into the oral surgeon’s office. It was an early Tuesday morning and I hadn’t…
