Movie Monday: Lover Come Back (1961)
One of my favorite Rock Hudson and Doris Day films is definitely Lover Come Back! Maybe it is the nostalgia of what was leftover by the 1950’s or the fact that this film centers around two professionals in the advertising business, the major I am currently studying. Whatever the reason, this goofy romantic comedy goes down in the books right next to When Harry Met Sally on my list of all-time greatest films! These photos are not mine. Lover Come Back is a great example of the kind of tried and true friendship Hudson and Day had in real life. Hudson trusted Day’s comedic timing in each film they starred…

40’s Inspired Top
If there is anything I love as much as watching a classic film, it’s wearing clothes inspired by the silver screen era! I found this chic floral top in the clearance section at Kohl’s for only $9! Just seeing the fluttering cap sleeves and feeling the lightweight material gave me vintage vibes. When I tried this top on, I was immediately taken back to a different time! My favorite touch in this top is the delicate, feminine sleeves. For a while now I have felt the pulse of an older yet somehow modernized style trying to surge back into fashion. Maybe we will have a little taste of The Great…

Why Fruit Prints are Not Just for Women
This summer we have seen prints of all kinds. Gingham, geometric, aztec, and so many more, but fruit is the one to me that seems so different and fun! I have seen so many ladies wear some of the prettiest lemon printed dresses and blouses, it occurred to me that this lasting trend works great on men, too! Throwing on a crisp button up with a cool print like the one above can be such a fun way to not only stay on trend, but to also stand out. This would be the perfect outfit for a cookout, night with family and friends, or a trip to the movies! As the…

CaseApp
As the new semester rapidly approaches, I am working hard at putting together new supplies to bring to college! Two of my most valuable tools are definitely my computer and phone. They are the way I communicate with others, and my computer is what helps me write the many papers I need to create in order to succeed. It is so important that I take care of both my phone and computer! I simply can’t risk either of these things getting damaged or lost. That is why going into my sophomore year of college I am collaborating with CaseApp! One of the main aspects I love about CaseApp is the…

Movie Monday: A Hard Day’s Night (1964)
In the mid-1960’s, while a slew of Elvis Presley films were dominating theaters all around the world, the United States experienced something of a British invasion. Beatlemania had taken over seemingly everywhere, and this band was considered a fad of it’s time. The decision to make a semidocumentary, semicomedy was an urgent one! In 1964, A Hard Day’s Night was made in six and a half weeks. These photos are not mine. Scenes like the one pictured above could only be shot once or twice before fans would cause them to have to move along. In the opening scene of the film, The Beatles were truly chased by fans to a…

Neon Stripes
If I had to pick a top five or ten favorite colors, neon green would be somewhere in that group! Unlike its neighboring colors, like construction worker yellow, neon green as a color steers clear of tacky and navigates more towards fun. The navy blue stripe really balance out the bright green in this top. In addition, the three little blue buttons you may notice on my shoulder are such a fun little detail to mark this as a classic addition to the wardrobe! I decided a matching pair of navy shorts from Old Navy with this ensemble. One more thing I love about this top is the quarter length…

The Knotted Romper
What better way to welcome the new month than with a cute romper? This is one of my favorite rompers in my closet! I bought it at the tail end of last summer, maybe that is why I am so fond of it for this time of year. The print vertical styled print is one of my favorite aspects of this romper, I’m also a sucker for anything with stripes! The sleeveless look keeps you cool in the heat while the print keeps the romper interesting. My favorite feature is hands down the knot in the front, though! Not many rompers have a knot to tie so this versatile feature…

Topman Baby Blue
There is nothing like finding a classic, soft tee! When my brother Jacob found this top from Topman, it was love at first touch! It is t-shirts like these that stay in the closet for years and are an absolute essential. The ability to mix and match the a pretty blue tee like this one is endless. Everyone should own one top that is soft and comfortable, those never go out of style! Topman hit the nail on the head with this material. My brother, Jacob, told me it breathed so easily and kept him cool on the hot day he wore it on. The fit is fitted enough to complement…

Movie Monday: Rebel Without a Cause (1955)
Rebel Without a Cause was a film that set the tone for the 1950’s and really connected to a lot of the youth of that time. Let’s be honest, it still connects to the youth of today. Not only because of the legendary James Dean, but because of the aesthetic it lent to the 1950’s era. This was one of three films James Dean starred in that hit the big screen. He would never get to see the premiere of this film, but Dean left a lasting impact with his creation of Jim Stark. Director Nicholas Ray let Dean have so much creative control with his character and the film in…

Gingham Tank
Not to long ago, I wrote a blog post calling gingham one of the biggest prints of the summer. This prediction did not disappoint! I found this cute tank top at Target. The ruffle was one of my favorite features about this tank when I bought it. However, the first day I wore this top there was a bit of a breeze outside and I had that ruffle flying in my face. It provided for some pretty funny blooper photos though so I was fine with it. Sometimes the wind is our friend and sometimes it is not. Either way, this gingham look is classic and a total win whether…
