• 4th of July 2019

The 4th of July has always been one of my favorites holidays. Between the time spent with family and patriotic feeling from all of the festivities, there is nothing better than spending the summer celebrating. This year was extra special for a lot of reasons that I will share more about on here later, but for now let me tell you what I did for the 4th of July this year! The day begin with a early trip to set up the 65th wedding anniversary party that we would later be having for my Grandma and Grandpa McFarland. I will be sharing a ton of photos and thoughts on the…

  • What I Wore for the 4th of July 2019

It was a very eventful 4th of July for my family and I! More on what we did all day will be coming later this week, but today I am sharing what I wore for this very special holiday. I have been loving button up tank tops this summer and this style came in especially handy since the 4th of July was extraordinarily hot the year. James Stewart gave a iconic performance in this Frank Capra movie so it only made sense to review this movie on the week of the Fourth of July holiday! This film is full of impactful scenes and deep meanings. Like all Frank Capra movies, there is a deep sentiment of American pride laced within all of the actors lines. What we as an audience see and hear is the “American Dream” embodied in Mr. Smith. Besides the inspiring plot of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (which we will continue reviewing momentarily), the cinematography in the scenes where…

It was one jam-packed fourth of July for my family and I this year! This was the third year in a row that I have walked in the fourth of July parade in Oakwood, Illinois. This year was extra special because it was the first time my Mom and I have had the opportunity to walk alongside our fellow Governor Bradford NSDAR members! Some of the Governor Bradford Chapter NSDAR members getting ready for the parade! We handed out little United States flags to the kids along the parade route. The children would get a little glimmer of excitement in their eye when they saw us coming along to hand out flags. They…
