Leaves and Ruffled Sleeves
This olive green top is one of my favorites to wear during this particular time of year for many reasons. First, the ruffle sleeves are so much fun to pair with vests or just to wear on their own without a jacket. Second, the print on this top reminds me of the gorgeous falling leaves. Don’t ask me why, but fall is always the time of year when my style takes a little more of a country chic turn. You can tell by the way I choose to wear bootcut jeans a little more, and western inspired ankle boots. Actually, the boots I am wearing here have quickly become my…

Balloon Sleeves for Fall 2018
We’ve talked about how the princess sleeves trend is huge for fall and it will not be slowing down anytime soon. Matter of fact, the runways we saw during Fashion Month in September proved that we will be seeing princess sleeves even in the spring of 2019. But today I am going to tell you about another sleeve style that has the same kind of popularity and longevity as the princess sleeve — the balloon sleeve. In some ways, I kind of like the balloon sleeve even better than the princess sleeve. This look is cool for fall when it isn’t cold enough for a jacket yet. They trendy sleeves act…

Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2019
Louis Vuitton is creating a whole new kind of street style chic! Chock full of puffy sleeves and western style ankle boots, there is nothing that is off limits with this new kind of casual style! These photos are not mine. In the wide world of high fashion, Louis Vuitton is a leading figure. Decked out in newly styled and fresh street chic designs, this runway was both reflective and futuristic. The main difference between this runway and the Balenciaga runway is that the tones of 80s throwback were nowhere to be found. This is strictly a fashion forward runway. Louis Vuitton gave us a mix of city chic, wild…

Chanel Spring/Summer 2019
Chanel took their classic style to the seaside this season! It served up some fresh, vacation ready inspiration for next summer as well as setting some cool trends in the makeup department. Chanel also transformed their classic tweed suits just for the day on the beach! I simply love this look above! Basically what Chanel is trying to say is that a Chanel girl can make even a burlap bag look good if the name Chanel is on it. Photos by Vogue If you have never worn Chanel to the beach before, don’t worry you are not alone. Chanel is being taken places it has never been before! No other runway this…

Fall Fashion Details + Peek-a-Boo Sweater
It’s beginning to look a lot like…autumn? Today we are talking about one of the cutest and unique fall details I have seen, admired, and worn lately. I am talking about what I have dubbed the “Peak-a-Boo” sweater. Why have I given this sweater such a funny nickname? No, it is not because of the impending Halloween holiday. Let me explain. The front of this sweater looks average, but when you see the back there is a curtain effect. Cute, right? Well, it doesn’t stop there! I am not wear multiple layers here, the underneath shirt is sewn together with the outer blue fabric! This extra layer acts as a…

The Perfect Pinstripe Jumpsuit
Fun fact about Sarah: pinstripes make me feel like a boss! They are sleek and oh so flattering! All of the elements in this jumpsuit are a huge “YES” for me! The colors, the keyhole detail on the front, the pockets, and the relaxed pant leg to name a few. The cinched waist and pinstripes are the perfect addition to flatter a petite figure like mine, and it will definitely give the illusion of an hourglass figure if that is your goal! The red and blue shades keep this look sophisticated and office ready! It could also easily transition into a fabulous girl’s night out look with only minor changes…

Movie Monday: Designing Woman (1957)
At one of the toughest times in her life, the legendary Lauren Bacall created one of her most memorable films in Designing Woman. Originally, Grace Kelly was set to star in both this film and another Bacall classic, The Cobweb (1955). However, Kelly’s career plans changed for her once she became engaged to Prince Rainier of Monaco. Designing Woman was the film that provided Bacall the chance to show a different side of herself. It was time for her to step out of the shadow of the films she made with her husband Humphrey Bogart. What better way to get back into acting than by starring in two films that are directed…

Movie Monday: Lover Come Back (1961)
One of my favorite Rock Hudson and Doris Day films is definitely Lover Come Back! Maybe it is the nostalgia of what was leftover by the 1950’s or the fact that this film centers around two professionals in the advertising business, the major I am currently studying. Whatever the reason, this goofy romantic comedy goes down in the books right next to When Harry Met Sally on my list of all-time greatest films! These photos are not mine. Lover Come Back is a great example of the kind of tried and true friendship Hudson and Day had in real life. Hudson trusted Day’s comedic timing in each film they starred…

Neon Stripes
If I had to pick a top five or ten favorite colors, neon green would be somewhere in that group! Unlike its neighboring colors, like construction worker yellow, neon green as a color steers clear of tacky and navigates more towards fun. The navy blue stripe really balance out the bright green in this top. In addition, the three little blue buttons you may notice on my shoulder are such a fun little detail to mark this as a classic addition to the wardrobe! I decided a matching pair of navy shorts from Old Navy with this ensemble. One more thing I love about this top is the quarter length…

The Knotted Romper
What better way to welcome the new month than with a cute romper? This is one of my favorite rompers in my closet! I bought it at the tail end of last summer, maybe that is why I am so fond of it for this time of year. The print vertical styled print is one of my favorite aspects of this romper, I’m also a sucker for anything with stripes! The sleeveless look keeps you cool in the heat while the print keeps the romper interesting. My favorite feature is hands down the knot in the front, though! Not many rompers have a knot to tie so this versatile feature…
