• Designers That Changed Fashion: Hubert de Givenchy

Continuing the series of “Designers That Changed Fashion”, I am highlighting a famous designer who is loved by many. Hubert de Givenchy created some of the most timeless designs that we all still love and appreciate even to this day. However, I have a few thoughts as to how Givenchy differentiated himself from everyone else. Some of the most iconic looks of any film or character have been designer by Hubert de Givenchy. Remember Breakfast at Tiffanies? Of course, it helped that he had a fabulous model in Audrey Hepburn to help him get his name into the films and to slowly become the face of his brand. However, in…

  • The Floral & Lace T-Shirt

Is there anything cuter or more effortless for summer fashion than throwing on a t-shirt? One of my favorite go-to summer styles is a t-shirt and shorts. Well, every once in a while you gotta have a statement t-shirt to spruce things up, and that is exactly what I have today! Floral is an absolute summer and spring staple for any wardrobe, while lace is a lot of the time left for special occasions. With this t-shirt I am combining both of these styles to create something typical, yet timeless and elegant. The lace trim is one of my favorites aspects of this t-shirt because it is just to unique…

  • The Exposed Buttons Trend

For a while now I have been seeing a ton of buttons! By that I mean when you go shopping there are a lot of cute pairs of shorts and jeans that are taking part in the exposed buttons trend. This trend has gained some traction during the summer, but I am seeing it as more of a fall and winter trend. The exposed buttons trend is one to keep an eye out for during the upcoming fall season, but if you are like me and you cannot wait that long there are a bunch of really cute shorts that have these buttons. Old Navy has a great selection to…

  • What I Wore for the 4th of July 2019

It was a very eventful 4th of July for my family and I! More on what we did all day will be coming later this week, but today I am sharing what I wore for this very special holiday. I have been loving button up tank tops this summer and this style came in especially handy since the 4th of July was extraordinarily hot the year. This festive button up tank top was a lucky find from Kohl’s. I love how subtle the star print is on this blouse, and the shade of blue is very perfect for this particular patriotic holiday. To style this outfit I worn a classic…

  • Dior Spring 2020 for Men

The final collection from the spring 2020 men’s runways that I will be reviewing is the Dior runway. Although I am disappointed that Dior did not stray from the typical pastels of the springtime, I do like that there were some textures and designs added to these looks. For instance, the shoes for this collection had a very gummy like texture and look to them that really amplified the overall neutral color tone of the runway. I also enjoyed that once in a while a bright color made a special appearance on the Dior runway. This bright shade especially stood out against the white and pastels that dominated. Another element…

  • A Classic Embroidered Button Up

Nothing says summer more than a classic knotted button up! Recently I noticed how little of this one clothing item I had in my closet and decided to remedy the problem with a trip to Kohl’s. While doing a little light shopping I found this embroidered button up that I thought would be just perfect to add the summer wardrobe! What was a huge selling point for this button up was the light patterning of embroidered flowers all around it. I really love the mix of sophistication and casual that comes with wearing a knotted button up in the summer. Especially when that button up has some embroidery on it!…

  • City Chic Audrey Hepburn Style

I know it may seem crazy depending on where you live and what the weather is like there, but lately here in the Midwest it has been a bit on the chilly side! Especially in the Windy City (A.K.A. Chicago) where I have recently spent a bit of time helping my brother move to. Although we have been busy lifting heavy boxes, it is never a bad idea to dress up for a day on the town! Recently, I shared how I like to style a trench coat in the springtime but today I am sharing another way to style a classic camel trench coat. Matter of fact, this entire…

  • Green with Envy

One of the freshest shades of the summertime season has appeared to be green. This color surrounds us in nature in the summertime, but that won’t stop me from letting it take over a small corner of my summer wardrobe. Green has been popping up everywhere in summer fashion lately. It feels like so many different styles are incorporating differing shades of green to liven things up and I am loving it! After finding this green striped top at Kohl’s, I know it would be the perfect addition to my summer closet and it would play well with a lot of different accessories. Instead of going with a pair of…

  • The Must Have Shoes of Summer 2019!

If you are looking for a fun way to spice up your shoe closet this summer, platform heels are the way to go! Now, I know this seems scary. Platforms are rather intimidating to look at and think about walking in, but they are surprisingly sturdy. I have several pairs of platform heels and I have worn them several times before now, but I am thankful to see these shoes having the spotlight yet again. It may seem like a bit of a retro suggestion, but platforms have quickly become the shoe essential of summer 2019. There are so many different types of platforms out there with unique details that…

  • Designers That Changed Fashion: Edith Head

Today I am starting an exciting new series that I am calling “Designers That Changed Fashion”! This new series will featured and is dedicated too designers that I feel have fundamentally changed the fashion industry forever. Today I wanted to start off with a designer that seems to be forgotten all too often. Edith Head was a fashion forward, sophisticated designer whose vision for the looks she was trying to create has gone down in history. Best known for her Old Hollywood costumes, Edith Head was always able to create a feeling and atmosphere that surrounded each character she dressed. Something I have picked up on after watching several films…
