• Happy to “Bee” Here

Nothing can truly beat a classic white t-shirt or polo. When you combine those two elements with a simple bee pattern, sky is the limit with how you can style it! Every summer there always seems to be some kind of animal, or in this case a insect, that acts as the fashionable symbol of the year. Well, I believe that 2019’s summer fashion symbol is the bee. I have a detailed theory as to why, but I won’t go into all of that right now and instead I will talk about all of that later. Anyway, back to this polo. I have always had a love for the buttoned…

  • The Underrated Style of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy

Any woman whose mother-in-law was Jacqueline Kennedy-Onassis (I just wrote a post all about Jackie’s style too) would have been a little nervous when it came to filling in Jackie’s fashion shoes. However, Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy was a strong, opinionated lady who knew what she liked. Today, I will be focusing on the underrated style of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy and how she changed fashion forever. Although when we think of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy’s life we think of her untimely death, there is so much she contributed to life and fashion while she was alive. Modern street style would not be the same if it were not for Carolyn. Today, you can easily draw…

  • The Tie-Dye Trend

One of the more surprising trends that I have noticed this spring is one involving tie-dye. It is in so many places these days and can even be found in another spring/summer 2019 trend, the bucket hat. There are so many elements thrown together into this particular trend. For instance, the fusion of color found in the tie-dye trend are similar but a more muted version of the colors we have seen with the neon trend. Additionally, there are also many aspects of the tie-dye trend that has taken over spring fashion that contain the specific look and feel of spring. In my opinion, this just goes to show that…

  • How to Wear Knits in the Spring

Spring can be a rather difficult time of year to dress for, but it doesn’t have to be. I like to switch it up this time of year by wearing a short sleeved cardigan! Not all cardigans are created equally, and often times we see them being worn as a complementary piece to an outfit not one of the main staples. Just by simply switching things up and wearing a nice short sleeved cardigan as a top can really create a whole new kind of ensemble! Another element to wearing knits in the spring choosing the right color. This peachy/orange shade has so many different shades it can be worn…

  • The Bucket Hat Trend

Something I have noticed a whole lot of this summer are hats, particularly bucket hats. These accessories were everywhere in the 90’s, and today they are making a resurgence into fashion. We saw bucket hats make a surprising appearance on the runway with Christian Dior on their fall 2019 Ready-to-Wear collection. The way that Dior styled these classic accessories really made them so much more sophisticated and cute. I had to go find myself one after I saw the Dior runway! The bucket hat I am wearing here is from Forever 21 and it features another trend that I will be writing about in the near future. Bucket hats are…

  • What I wore to My Brother’s College Graduation

The day was finally here where my brother would graduate from the University of Illinois with his undergraduate degree. Of course, on big days like that everyone thinks about the logistics of getting people to all of the places they need to go and the work that went into my big brother graduating. However, if you are like me, your first question usually is “What will I wear?” Well, I shared a few ideas with you all not too long ago of what to wear to a spring graduation. A lot of the ideas I came up with kind of fell into the dress that I chose to wear to…

  • How to Style a Trench Coat for Spring

It’s no secret that trench coats are an absolute closet essential for both men and women. We often think of it as something that we should all own, but we really don’t know how to wear it. It becomes especially difficult to style in the springtime, but it doesn’t have to be! The spring season is the perfect time to break out the trench coat because of all the pretty cherry blossom trees and the in between weather. Although styling changes from season to season, the way I like to wear a trench coat (here is the EXACT trench coat I am wearing) in the spring is with bright colors!…

  • Jackie O’s Impact on Fashion

Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis is one of the most famous and world renowned fashion icons to ever exist. Few people reach the level of influence on fashion that Jackie did. Even to this day we still look to her style to guide our outfit decisions. Today, I will be looking at a few of the aspects that Jackie wore that we still see in fashion. The Classic Camel Coat Even to this day we consider a long, tan/camel colored coat to be a wardrobe staple. The 1970’s saw Jackie take a turn to influential casual style that was the perfect mix of business and comfort. A coat like this one can…

  • Movie Monday: Sabrina (1954)

Recently, I re-watched the film Sabrina starring Audrey Hepburn and I became so inspired by both the fashion and the acting. That inspiration has led me here to this Movie Monday to review this classic film! Sabrina is full of symbolism and metaphors which is one of the reasons I love watching it! In one scene we see Audrey Hepburn’s character speak with her father through a window while he is standing in their shared home’s kitchen. This, in my opinion, is supposed to symbolize her feeling like an outsider in many ways including in comparison to the wealthy family who the man she loves is a member of. This…

  • Secret Sequins

I understand that black is not the most cheerful spring color, but I think this quarter length top is absolutely perfect for this time of year! With all of the grass becoming a little greener and the flowers blooming, black really contrasts against these light backgrounds. Of course, black is never really a cool that goes out of style, but it is defiantly not typical for the spring season. One exciting element of this top is the two strands of black sequins that are visible on both sleeves! Really this black top is so much more fashion forward because of those two strands that I like to call secret sequins…
