• City Chic Audrey Hepburn Style

I know it may seem crazy depending on where you live and what the weather is like there, but lately here in the Midwest it has been a bit on the chilly side! Especially in the Windy City (A.K.A. Chicago) where I have recently spent a bit of time helping my brother move to. Although we have been busy lifting heavy boxes, it is never a bad idea to dress up for a day on the town! Recently, I shared how I like to style a trench coat in the springtime but today I am sharing another way to style a classic camel trench coat. Matter of fact, this entire…

  • 5 Things I Learned from Pageantry

In light of the Miss Georgetown Fair Queen Information Tea being this Sunday, I felt that it was only right that I share some of the things I learned from pageantry. Specifically, what I learned as the 2016 Miss Georgetown Fair Queen. Some of the lessons I learned from pageantry I did not know was something I absorbed until I got to college and saw how useful they all were. So today I am going to share more than the average tips and lessons learned like smile and be approachable. I want this to truly give everyone a taste as to why pageantry is important and how there are some…

  • How I Got Stranded in Dublin

I’m not sure how many people know this about the trip my brother Jacob and I took to London, but we actually got stranded in Dublin, Ireland! Our flight home was scheduled to land back in the United States late at night the day before Thanksgiving. However, our plans had to be changed… The morning started out early at Heathrow Airport in London. We woke up that morning about 5:30 am so we could take the Tube to Heathrow and get through security in time for our flight which was at 9:30 am. Our flight was a was a small one hour trip on British Airways to Dublin Airport. Really…

  • CaseApp

As the new semester rapidly approaches, I am working hard at putting together new supplies to bring to college! Two of my most valuable tools are definitely my computer and phone. They are the way I communicate with others, and my computer is what helps me write the many papers I need to create in order to succeed. It is so important that I take care of both my phone and computer! I simply can’t risk either of these things getting damaged or lost. That is why going into my sophomore year of college I am collaborating with CaseApp! One of the main aspects I love about CaseApp is the…

  • The Knotted Romper

What better way to welcome the new month than with a cute romper? This is one of my favorite rompers in my closet! I bought it at the tail end of last summer, maybe that is why I am so fond of it for this time of year. The print vertical styled print is one of my favorite aspects of this romper, I’m also a sucker for anything with stripes! The sleeveless look keeps you cool in the heat while the print keeps the romper interesting. My favorite feature is hands down the knot in the front, though! Not many rompers have a knot to tie so this versatile feature…

  • Generations of Bergmans

In a book about Grace Kelly that I once read years ago, it said she wrote in her high school yearbook that her favorite actress was Ingrid Bergman. If you really think about this though, it makes sense. Yes, Bergman was a popular actress during the very impressionable years of Grace Kelly’s life, but Kelly also had the natural beauty that Ingrid possessed. These photos are not mine. Similar face shapes, hairstyles, eyebrow shape, and smiles. Both of these women were stunning, but at the heart of this story many generations later women are still trying to capture the beauty of these women. Today, many women in Hollywood wear vintage…

  • ILYMIX Sunglasses

Something that may surprise you to learn about me (or maybe not) is that I am a little clumsy with my sunglasses. Naturally I a gravitate towards the cheapest pairs I can find because I know that I will either drop or scratch them. So when I opened my mailbox to see a box from the ILYMIX brand I could barely contain my excitement! The first think I noticed when I saw these sunglasses was how well made and sturdy they are! I felt like I could trust myself so much more wearing and using these sunglasses without breaking them. Besides all of that, the styles are so one trend…

  • Red, White, & Fabulous!

Similar to my look: Top         Shorts This year has absolutely flown by! I can’t believe it was the fourth of July! (Yes, I did mean to rhyme) I decided to sport a tank this year with a pink/red tint to it and a unstructured peplum bottom. Coupled with cutoff, denim shorts and I was ready to roll! It was a rather hot fourth of July this year here in the Midwest, so the sleeveless look kept me as cool as a cucumber. This look works for way more than just the fourth of July, though. It would be a stunning ensemble to a picnic, family outing,…

  • Movie Monday: The Wizard of Oz (1939)

These photos are not mine. Okay, I know what you are thinking. “Sarah, why would you pick The Wizard of Oz this Monday when the characters don’t even change their style at all the entire film?” Let me explain. You see The Wizard of Oz has been a very understated and influential film for fashion. Plus, who doesn’t love a movie about magical shoes? Because of its unique mix of black and white and one of the earliest uses of technicolor, The Wizard of Oz has become way more than just a classic piece of cinema. The slew of merchandise dedicated to this film alone marks it as one of the most famous and easily recognizable…

  • The Maxi Romper

Photos taken by Darla Sigmon (@mcsig96 on Instagram) Similar to my look: Romper         Wedges   This little, not-so-little number has it all! Nothing says summer like a romper, especially when it has the added drama of what I like to think of as a cape! (Honesty, it could be called something else, but I am not sure and I am not going to guess. It makes me feel like Wonder Woman so I am going with the whole cape idea.) This style of romper has been all the rage since last fall, and although we had a cold winter here in the Midwest, I have been…
