• Celine Spring 2020

There have been many runways this Fashion Month that have served up some retro inspiration, however, I would say that this Celine spring 2020 collection is the most retro driven. Along with the blast from the past, Celine also seems to take a distinctly street style path with this entire collection and refrains from going towards any couture looks. All of this adds up to a very interesting runway, and one that definitely deserves a little dissecting. Overall, I would say that Celine is overwhelmingly pushing the 70s vibes with this collection. I don’t saying pushing to be mean, but I do say it because I do not see hints…

  • A Vintage Puff Sleeve

The runways have been full of interesting shoulder designs, and it has inspired me to transform this spring 2020 trend into a fall 2019 look! Last week in the Look Book I talked about the 80s inspiration that is showing up in shows like the Versace’s spring collection. However, today I am talking about a more vintage look that involves echos of the 40s. I love all things classic, especially classic films. So it probably comes as no surprise to you all when I say that the 40s inspiration for the shoulder designs we have been seeing more of is one of my fashion trends of the future. The main…

  • Miu Miu Spring 2020

Although the entire focus of Fashion Month has been on spring fashion, I feel like this Miu Miu runways has a lot of fall and winter vibes to it. As soon as I saw this collection I knew this would make its way onto a Runway Review! Miu Miu created a collection of interesting mixes, but most importantly influential elements. Something I noticed Miu Miu did with these designs was transition double breasted coat dresses into a springtime look. Typically we see this kind of design make an appearance in fall/winter fashion, but Miu Miu decided to shift this style into something more appropriate for spring. Personally, I love this…

  • Versace Spring 2020

If there is one takeaway from this entire Fashion Month, it is that retro is going to be the flavor of spring 2020! In last week’s Look Book post “80s Inspiration & Structured Sleeves“, I keyed in on this fashion concept. Although a lot of these looks will be a hot and heavy trend for spring 2020, I have seen hints of it even now in the fall. The most important fashion trend for spring 2020 will be structured shoulders. This is influenced by a mixture of time eras like the Victorian era, the 40s, and the 80s. Of course, we all remember that shoulder pads were an fashion item…

  • Prada Spring 2020

Prada has a very interesting take on what spring 2020 fashion will look like. While skipping all of the pastels and florals, Prada decided to do things in a retro style. This spring collection reminds me very much of the 1930s and what you would have seen back in that era (which happens to be one of my favorite times for fashion). However, each design had a distinct modern edge to it. These dresses were all very much like the straight down, a-line style we have been seeing a bit more of. This is just another example of the 1930s vibes I get from this entire runway. One Old Hollywood…

  • Burberry Spring 2020

There are a lot of different aspects of this runway I will be covering today with this Runway Review. I am picking up a lot of notes on spring trends that have been consistent across several collections and I will compile them all into one blog post for you all later after Fashion Month. However, today’s Burberry spring 2020 collection has a lot to give us to talk about, so lets get started! First of all, I just want to say that Burberry did a splendid job differentiating themselves from the last spring collection we saw from them. Typically, this brand leans into the classic trench coat and scarf look…

  • Halpern Spring 2020

Wow, wow, wow! This Halpern spring 2020 runway may be the best one I have seen so far! This doesn’t feel like any one seasonal collection, but it feels like a Met Gala red carpet all rolled up into a runway! There is so much glamour that can be found in this Halpern collection which I love. This level of sophistication is not typical found within a spring collection that is for sure. When the average person thinks of spring they may think of bunnies, sunshine, and grass. In other words, pastels, muted colors, and anything matte. Halpern took all of the expectations I had, threw them in the trash,…

  • Marc Jacobs Spring 2020

I’m going to be honest, I feel pretty lukewarm about this Marc Jacobs spring 2020 collection. It was not the worst runway, and it was not the best runway. However, there are a few things we can gleam in particular from this spring collection and take with us for when we go shopping. First of all, I want to point out that the colors of all kind have reigned supreme so far during both New York Fashion Week and London Fashion Week. From what I can tell, pastels are still a dominant feature for spring runways, but there is a surge of brighter more in your face colors taking hold…
